Melrose High School is the sole comprehensive four-year secondary school in the city. It has an enrollment of approximately 1000 students and is serviced by a faculty numbering 85. The New England Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools accredits the school.

The Melrose High School curriculum affords students the opportunities to engage in a broad range and depth of study in all major academic areas. In addition, both introductory and advanced opportunities for growth through sequential course offerings are presented in the areas of Computer Aided Design, Web Design, Nutrition, Television Production, Orchestra, Band and Chorus as well as other areas of technology and the arts.

Over forty clubs and organizations are available to the students of Melrose High School. Athletic programs are offered at three levels in many of our seventeen different sports.
